Well, the Oscars has come and gone, and all my predictions were wrong. I blame the Academy for being so incompetent and picking crap like the Green Book to win Best Picture and Best Screenplay. Though I am admittedly happy to have been wrong about Best Animated Feature and Best Lead Actress. Olivia Colman deserved that win. Besides for the awful picks though, it was actually a decent show. It never dragged, it didnt have pointless filler, and the people presenting the awards were actually funny. They should have no host next year as well.

But now, it is time to start thinking of this year’s movies. So now, before I have seen pretty much any of the movies that will be nominated, I want to predict what the winners will be. And what else could compete.

Best Picture

  1. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
    1. Tarantino has yet to win Best Picture, that ends next year. Feel like this will be a huge year for him.
  2. Us
    1. Jordan Peele’s follow up to Get Out. Seems a safe pick to get a nomination.
  3. The Irishman
    1. Martin Scorcese, Robert Den Niro, and Al Pacino team up again, seems like Oscar bait to me.
  4. Toy Story 4
    1. It won’t deserve this, but Toy Story 3 got a nom, so this will to.
  5. Rocketman
    1. Will get a lot of Oscar love just like Bohemian Rhapsody.
  6. Little Women
    1. The next movie from Great Gerwig, whose last movie got some Oscar’s love.
  7. A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood
    1. The Mr. Rodgers Biopic, if it is half decent, the Academy will gush over it.
  8. Ad Astra
    1. The dark horse, a movie set in space, where the director claims to want to make it be the most realistic depiction of space. Could see it bagging a nom
  9. Jojo Rabbit
    1. Call this wishful thinking, because I want Taika to get the credit he deserves
  10. The Roger Ailes Story
    1. This could be this year’s Vice.
